Joe Gendreau on The Bachelorette Elimination: Just Too Different From Emily


Joe Gendreau's time to impress Emily Maynard expired this week.

Reflecting on the non-love connection that earned him a rare one-on-one date boot on The Bachelorette Monday, he said it just didn't work out.

Nothing scandalous or incendiary about it. Just didn't click.

"I tried to keep the rose out of mind. I didn't want to look at it as a challenge and be like, 'I really want that rose,'" Gendreau said. "I wanted to see how my time was with her and entertain the idea of being able to hit it off with her."

"I thought it was going well, but ultimately didn't work out. We really didn't hit it off with each other. We are in different places in our lives."

"I'm a single, free-spirited individual. Emily, she is looking for someone more settled and committed to family and work."

To that effect, Joe's "five-year-plan" seemed to be his undoing.

"I said, 'I want to be happy with no regrets' in five years ... I think she was more looking for more detail like, 'I want to be here with these many kids.'"

"I didn't take offense. She's determined in what she wants and she didn't see that in me. I answered truthfully. That's me being myself."

"I was not closed-minded about it. I want to have kids and marriage in my life one day, [but] I'll cross that bridge when I get there."

"Whether she made the right decision is on her. After she made her mind up, I was content to move on. I was really happy with everything."

"We just didn't click. She was very sweet, and I wish her the best."

As for who he thinks Emily Maynard's ends up with in the end?

"My money's on Jef. He seems like a great guy, a caring individual, and he's got some money. I'm sure that's going to put me in a doghouse," he said.

"Arie and Sean will stick around too. And maybe Doug, the guy who got the first impression rose. They're solid good guys, good character."

ROAD TO REVEL: Beyonce Releases First Pic Of Her Hitting The Stage...And Part 2 Of The BTS Rehearsal Footage

Tonight's the night!  Ahead of Beyonce hitting the stage in Atlantic City tonight at the Revel Resort for her very first performance in her Back To Business quad of concerts, she's released part two of her rehearsal footage.  Plus, her new pic just before hitting tonight's stage....

On part 2 of her behind the scenes footage of the Back To Business preparations, Bey showed her hustle 3 weeks out.  In addition to rehearsing in NYC, her team took it to the actual Revel Resort in Atlantic City to gauge the venue and stage. She can be seen working on her musical arrangements, and prepping her dancers with angel-like routines and more.

About her return, she commented:

Well I'll be ready. Trying to become Sasha Fierce again. She's there….but I need to bring her back to life.

And went on to say:

I'm scared…this is crazy. We usually have 2 months to do what we're doing in two weeks. But what is new?
 

The R&B & Pop diva also gave a glimpse just minutes ago on her Facebook page of her walking to take tonight's stage.

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult Going Strong in London

Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are still very much in love. The couple, who was spotted hanging out in London together on Thursday, is still going strong after nearly a year and a half of dating.

The Hunger Games star, 21, met the British actor, 22, on the set of their hit mutant adventure X-Men: First Class, in which they play the flirtatious Mystique and Beast. Their characters didn't end up together (she goes to the pro-mutant "dark side" with Magneto, played by Michael Fassbender) on camera -- but behind the scenes, the two hit if off in a big way.

And it sounds like the former child actor, who famously starred opposite Hugh Grant in About a Boy, is somewhat of a calming influence on the impetuous Lawrence.

"They complement each other in the most amazing way-- she's crazy and impulsive, but he keeps her grounded," X-Men costar Zoe Kravitz told Rolling Stone about her BFF's relationship. "And she keeps him on his toes."

So what are Lawrence and Hoult up to in his hometown? Apparently, they have been hitting up the London theatre scene. The actors were photographed on their way to the Duke of York's Theatre in the West End, presumably to see the play Posh about 10 rich Oxford guys who belong to an elite dining club where they're secretly planning a revolution.

Unlike some other young celebrity couples, Lawrence and Hoult aren't going out of their way to hide their relationship. But unlike her Hunger Games costar Liam Hemworth and his love Miley Cyrus, Jen and Nicholas aren't exactly flaunting their love, either.

Chris Brown has dropped a visual for his "Sweet Love" track, which appears on the upcoming Fortune (July 3) disc.

With the song produced by Polow Da Don and Jason "JP" Perry, in the video, Chris busts some sexy moves to the slow jam while seducing his lady.  He tweeted, Sweet Love video is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! @chrisbrown”” team breezy get ready!!!!!! July 3rd!
